VERDE 70 was formed in the middle of 1999 when Dario Castro (voice and guitar), David Arizaga (battery) and Diego Saa (chores and bass) joined together to create a new proposal of Pop-rock in Ecuador.

Since 1997, Dario and David had been part of the “Alegre Depresion” rock group and later became Verde 70 (V-70) with Diego as bass player.

The new band began to create its own music in order to participate in a local music contest organized by the Municipio of Quito, where V-70 was awarded the first prize. This award gave them the opportunity to show-up in the concert of “Los de Adentro”, a Colombian group, one of the most famous pop-rock groups of Latin America.

The concert was performed in the “Casa de la Cultura Ecuatoriana” in front of thousands of people. Since then, V-70 is one of the most popular pop-rock groups of Ecuador.
