Amerikandes was born in 1997, with its greatest dream
that was to represent the popular Latin-American music;
its musical gender is a mixture of sanjuanitos, pasacalles,
albazos, bombas, cuban, spanish, hungarian, israeli, russian,
and others.
This
particular folk group is formed by four Ecuadorian musicians,
all of them, members of the Andean Symphonic Orchestra,
unique in the world since 1990. Each member has a long
musical experience, and they have played with some other
famous groups such as the bolero and ballad Ecuadorian
group Gemmini´s
Amerikandes
uses traditional instruments form the Andes to play its
music, and some traditional too, among them are acoustic
guitar, bandolín, keyboards, synthesizers, pan
flute, quena, rondador, and voice effects.
Amerikandes’
members are Marcelo Martínez, Alejandro Guerrero,
Rodrigo Sánchez and Carlos Cevallos; they assure
to love Latin-American music and stand for Latin-American
rights. They think the music is the best link between
sister Latin-American nations and in that way, raise a
complain for change and improvement for the poor and hungry
people.
Among
their releases are “América para el mundo”
(cassette), “Amerikandes” (cassette), and
their first CD “Los mejores temas” which will
be out for sale next year.
