BioMindo
BioMindo
is a private non-profit organisation which combines a sustainable lifestyle and the support of environmental conservation in Mindo and its surroundings. Possible work options for volunteers include opening trails in the forest, inventory of biodiversity, bamboo constructions, organic gardening and permaculture, improving local eco-friendly tourist attractions, learning about local fruit while helping in the juice bar run by BioMindo. Volunteers don´t need to have previous experience in biology or construction work, what is needed is enthusiasm, initiative, physical fitness, to be open for sustainable living (composting toilet, solar collectors etc.) and the willingness to contribute to conservation of the planet.

Quito
Eterno Foundation
Volunteer projects include:
Medical attention to low-income communities. Education
and development for Special Needs Children. Painting colonial
homes in Historical Quito. Home building projects for
single parent families. Non-formal education with local
students. Teaching English or another language to at-risk
youth. Organizational Development with a local NGO. Agricultural
and nutritional development with local rural community.
Early learning development with a local preschool.
Depending on your available time, we plan volunteer trips
for 7 or more days. Most work is done in marginal neighborhoods
of Quito and in nearby rural communities. We call trips
of 7 to 15 days reality tours and trips of 15 or more
days volunteer vacations. If you desire an experience
similar to that of Peace Corps, but for a short term stay,
this is your chance. There is no shortage of communities
or projects.

Y Unida (FBU) Foundation
Living with a family, you will help to implement projects
that benefit them and the community, while you learn Spanish
in a relaxed atmosphere. We emphasize that an important
aspect of the program is the exchange of culture and customs
between the volunteer and the community members.
