Day 1. VIUDITA &
adaptation to horses and altitude
Difficulty level 2 Riding time 4-hrs
You will be transferred from Quito Airport or Hotel,
take a city tour in the morning, arrive at Hacienda
La Alegria for lunch (1pm), which will be a full meal,
after lunch we will go to the arena and try out the
horses, and then take a 4 hour ride to Viudita mountain.
From the top you will be able to enjoy a spectacular
view of the sunset of the volcano avenue. This mountain
is a perfect fit for a first day ride on Ecuador highlands.
That evening you will return back to Hacienda La Alegria
for dinner, where the meal will be served.
Day 2. Farms &
Pasochoa
Difficulty level 3 Riding time: 6-hrs
After breakfast get ready for our 6- hour journey
to the Pasochoa which is the mountain you will be
able to see form the front garden of Hacienda La Alegria.
Riding up to the borders of this volcano allows riders
to appreciate all native forest species. Lunch will
be served up in the mountain and then you will start
our way back around 2 pm to Hacienda La Alegria for
dinner and to spend the night. Opportunity for canter.

Day 3. CLOUDY RAIN
FOREST
Difficulty level 2 Riding time 5-hrs
Breakfast will be served at 8:00 am. You will take
a five minutes ride at the arena to get sure you feel
comfortable with the horse you will riding, then start
our ride to “Monte Oscuro”. After 2 ½
hours riding up to 3.500 meters, on a native tundra
vegetation landscape, we will start to descend towards
the coast. We will have a typical Ecuadorian meal
at a farm located in the incas bath trail. In the
afternoon we will ride to the “Monte Oscuro”
where we will spend the night in a tent at 3200 meters
high, and have a warm comforting and relaxing dinner.
On clear evenings we can see the mountain chain that
ends at the coast and some of the lights reflection
of the coast villages.

Day 4. Cotopaxi
and Ruminahui
Difficulty level 4 Riding time 7-hr
Breakfast 8:00 am. Our ride starts towards the east
to the Cotopaxi National Park, some of the trail is
on the old railroad way; We will arrive to the Boliche
train station after 2 hours ride, we will go to the
Sulfana mountains and arrive to the south of Ruminahui
rocks where we will have a 30 minute lunch at the
sandy-panzas forest. We will ride through the Ruminahui
base, continue to Limpiopungo Lake and arrive to a
cozy lodge. At the lodge we will have a good dinner
and a pleasant talk close to a warm fire place, where
we can observe the Cotopaxi volcano. You will be able
to take a hot shower and comfortable resting for the
night.
The next day early in the morning you would be able
to appreciate the most incredible scenery you have
ever seen just in front of you.

Day 5. Cotopaxi
park and Sto Domingo Lake
Difficulty level 3 Riding time: 6-
hrs
Breakfast will be served at 7:30 am, we will start
early in the morning riding to the east to “Tambo”
Incas Ruins and enjoy a short walk in the ruins. After
the walk we will continue west, down to the Machachi
green valley, appreciating the most imposing scenery
surrounded by the Ilinizas, Corazon, Pasochoa mountains.
This is a perfect spot for lunch and photos.
Day 6. Hacienda
La Alegria
Difficulty level 3 Riding time: 6-
hrs
Return to Hacienda La Alegria
Then we will ride down for 3 hours towards the valley
and arrive to Hacienda La Alegria around 4 pm. Then
we will get your luggage and depart to Quito (1- hour
drive).
The 6 day ride at Hacienda La Alegria has completed
a 360 degrees through all the volcanoes mountains
around the Machachi Valley
