DAY1.
At the set time we leave Quito and head south to Riobamba,
in this small city we will take about 30 minutes to
rest and visit the indigenous market where we will
buy rubber boots for our walk. We continue our route
changing roads until the area called Inguisay located
at 3422 mts. We will fix our baggage with our muleteers
and mule to continue to our first camp located at
3,750 mts, Polylepis forest. Dinner, lodging, 2-3
hours hike.
DAY 2. After the breakfast we continue our hike of
5 - 6 hours to the Mandur Lagoon, located at 4.387
mts.

there you will be able to observe the glacier with an
impressive view of the mountain and some of their picks.
Dinner, camp.
DAY
3. After breakfast we prepare our backpacks and get
ready to hike to the Italian camp (the Glacier) at
4,500 mts, special equipment is not needed, but warm
clothes are a must. From there you will be able to
observe the Altar with all its picks, we continue
our journey to the blue lagoon, then to the green
lagoon and return following the same path. This hike
takes about 4-5 hours. Dinner, camp.
DAY
4. Exit with all our camp equipment and all our carriers
(not mule for the difficulty of the rock). We will
hike through the rocky part of the mountain until
the edge located at 4,484 mts and from there begin
our way down to the area called Playa de Collanes
located at 3,852 mts. This is a hike of 5-6 hours,
we have a time to rest. Dinner and lodging in cabins
characteristic of the place. (or camp)
DAY 5. This day we will dedicate it to visit the kettle,
where is located the yellow lagoon, in the base of
the mountain at 4,265 mts. Descent towards the lagoon,
return to the campsite and time to relax near the
river Collanes. Dinner and lodging in cabins (or camp)
Hiking time: 4-5 hours.
DAY 6. After breakfast we will proceed with our return
to the Releche ranch with all our camp equipment.
Approximately hiking time 4 - 5 hours, place where
our transport will be waiting to take us back to Quito.
