Our products are recognized worldwide for their quality
and originality. Some of the most well known products
from the country are:
Panamá
Hats - Manabí and Azuay
This is one of the products for export from the country.
It's original name is jipijapa in honor of the place where
this product originated. In English, jipijapa translates
as panama, which was part of the costume that the workers
wore during the construction of the inter-oceanic canal
and since then have been mostly known as Panama Hats.
They are sold to true enthusiasts from throughout the
world that are conscious of the laborious process through
which the palm fibbers are converted into elegant and
durable hats.
Otavalan Weavings
- Imbabura Province
The Otavalan indigenous community is known throughout
the world for its designs, colours, quality and low prices.
North America and several European country readily recognize
the Otavalan Indians that travel to their countries to
offer their products.
Tigua Paintings -
Tigua (Cotopaxi)
The Tigua artists paint on sheepskin which are treated
with chlorinated water, soaking for several days and then
washed and placed on wooden frames. It is a unique artwork
in Ecuador.
Jewelry and Goldsmithing-
Cuenca, Chordeleg (Azuay)
Artful hands realize fine work in gold and silver. Precious
jewellery in gold and silver are woven by hand and sold
in Cuenca, Quito, Guayaquil and also sent to other countries.

Visit several places before choosing the ideal piece of
work, sometimes the quality and price can vary from one
site to another and in the end, you will have better choice
from which to pick.
Everything is made by hand. For this reason,
you can bargain. Do not let them take advantage of you
because you are a tourist and always offer less than they
ask. A friendly smile will be sufficient to get them to
lower the price.
