Extreme Sports in Ecuador
sponsored by

They appear easy but in reality, you have to be cold blooded to do them. It is simply petrifying to watch the daredevils defy the speed and height hanging only by a rope. Ecuador has not been left behind in this realm and offers different places for the most radical ones.

Jump 35 meters in free fall, go 100 kilometers per hour, spin rapidly and lose all notion of space, go back and jump into emptiness. Get dizzy, scream, defy gravity, feel the sensation of adrenaline from taking a risk. Definitely, extreme sports like jumping, the swing and bungee jumping are made for those that do not have a fear of heights and that do not find an afternoon in front of the television entertaining.

Requirements
Like any sport, it has its risks but they are completely safe or you can at least you can demand and verify this requirement. Aside from this, the only thing necessary for these activities are courage and boldness.

The types of these sports that are most common in Ecuador are:

Bungee
The idea is to launch yourself into the abyss tied by the feet or the waist with an elastic band specially designed for this purpose. The height varies, going from 30 meters to 50 meters or more. In addition to the elastic band, another security accessory is the harness that provides more security during the jumps. After the first fright is over, the sportsmen that want to perfect their jumps can carry out the most amazing contortions while jumping.

Swing or Pendulum
This is also flying and at more than 100 kilometers an hour. It involves a type of hammock where the individual lays. A cord holds maximum 3 people at a height of 50 meters. And like trapeze artists, from a platform, they jump into the air. It's something like the pirate ship at amusement parks. You fall, you go up and then down again. A pendular movement is repeated until there is no more speed. It is the closest thing to flying.

Bungie Jumping
Fastened by a harness, you jump on an elastic bed. The harness is held by two synthetic cords which support the person while they jump. The jumper when gaining more and more height with each jump can carry out innumerable acrobatics. As the confidence grows, the movements become riskier and riskier.
