Where is it done?
Mountains
Imbabura Province

One of the places recommended for flight near Quito of a thermal type, it is ideal for courses. It is located 20 minutes from Ibarra along the road to Tulcán. The flight lasts approximately 30 minutes to the edge of the lake. It can be done early in the morning or in the afternoon. Access is free and the road is a dirt road but in good conditions.

Quito
Puengasí Hill - Quito

An ideal place for technical flights. It is located 30 minutes from the Historical Center of Quito, and its access from here is easier (taxi, bus) along the new Via Oriental. A beautiful view of the city of Quito and of the volcanoes Cotopaxi, Cayambe and Antisana. Take off is from about 3000 m and there are two landings. The first at 2,770 m just to the left of the take off site and the second at 2,470 m on the opposite site. Thermal flight, in some cases it could also be dynamic. The flights in the morning begin at 9:00 and go until 2:00. Access is free.

Pichincha Volcano (Antennas) - Quito
A unique experience where you pass 1000 meters above Quito and land over the city. Take off is at 3,750 m in altitude and landing is in the middle of the city in a park full of grass and trees. The type of flight is variable and sometimes unpredictable and turbulent. Access costs $5.00 because it is within private property going up the Via Oriental to the street called Mañosca. A 4-wheel drive vehicle is required or at least a van and you get there in about 1 1/2 hours.

Baños (Pelileo) - Niton
A pleasnt place that offers good thermodynamic flights from a large hill formed like an arch over the valley. It is located some 15 minutes from the city of Pelileo (30 minutes from Baños). Take off is from 2,650 m and landing is possible along the entire river valley. The flight is tranquil, more dynamic than thermal. You can fly from 10:30 am until 15:00. Access is free and you need 15 minutes in car to arrive from the entrance to the valley from Pelileo.

Tunchi - Riobamba
Ideal site for beginners and also for courses for learning. This is a pleasant place that offers good thermodynamic flights, more than dynamic or thermal. It is located some 30 minutes from the city of Riobamba, along the road to Cuenca. Take off is from 3,050 m and landing is in the middle of the valley, any place is good for landing. Access is free and you should go up approximately 20 minutes.

Coast
Crucita Beach - Manabí Province

Access to this site is easy and the flight conditions are optimal all year long and accompanied by enjoyment of the beach, sun and sea and good services of lodging and food. It is an ideal site for beginners courses that last 4 days. Located on the Pacific coast some 30 minutes from Portoviejo, it is one of the most beautiful beaches in Ecuador.
Take off is made at 85 m and the landing is on any part of the beach. It is mainly a dynamic flight. You can fly from 10:00 am when the wind is perfect until the last rays of the sun. It is a private site but the access is FREE and you should go by car from the town. Maybe, if you want a tandem flight it will cost you around $5.00.

Canoa Beach- Manabí Province
It is the second best place on the Pacific Coast. Located some 17 km to the north of San Vicente (Bahía de Caráquez). Take off is from 150 m and landing at 20 km above the beach. Access costs $40.00, it is free for non-resident tourists, to enter as at the Hotel Tierra and Luna. A four-wheel drive vehicle is necessary to reach the take off site.
