The tour begins from Riobamba. We pick you up at your hotel and drive you by 4WD to the first shelter (Carrel Brothers) at 4800 meters altitude. We have a short hike from the first to the second shelter (Edward Whymper) located at 5000 meters, return to the first shelter and start biking downhill. Exclusive route of Biking Spirit. We will ride primarily on dirt roads and single tracks through archaeological Inca ruins, mineral springs and Indian communities; you will observe magnificent views of Mt. Chimborazo's south face. Moderate Distance: 37 km, 28 km on dirt route and 9 km on pavement Uphill distance: 2 km approximated Highest altitude: Whymper shelter 5000 meters (16.405 feet); Lowest altitude: San Juan 3200 meters (10.500 feet) Total time: 6 to 8 hours The tour includes: Mountain bike, safety equipment (helmet, gloves, elbow and knee pads) food and bottled water free coca tea at Chimborazo's shelter water proof clothes (if required) private transport bilingual guide mechanic support radio communication The tour does not include: Payment to National Parks and Protected Areas and tips.
